The International Young Scientists Conference

We conducted an attendance-boosting campaign targeting European students, potential participants of the International Young Scientists Conference on Molecular and Cell Biology, an event organised by the International Institute of Molecular and Cell Biology in Warsaw, a unique research institution in Poland, modeled after the best organisations of the kind in the world and established under an international agreement between UNESCO and the Polish government.

The International Young Scientists Conference on Molecular and Cell Biology is a regular event in the Institute’s calendar. In 2020, the pro science team developed an attendance-boosting campaign targeting European students as potential participants. We used social media and mapped European research institutes and organisations, which received pre-event marketing emails.

THE EFFECT OF OUR ACTIONS

Our activities boosted the conference registration, but also promoted the international recognition of the Institute, both as an organiser of the event and a research institution.

We built a contact database that went far beyond the client’s expectations, maximising the outreach of the campaign and reaching potential conference participants. Our activities were further supported by a highly effective social media campaign.

Results: over 21,000 people marked themselves on Facebook as “interested”, the increased registrations for the event, announcements published on the website of the Royal Society of Biology.

The visual identification we prepared continues to be used by the event organisers: https://www.iimcb.gov.pl/en/young-scientists-conference.
